Naver's AI strategy has moved beyond the stage of introducing new services and is now facing the test of recovering the costs poured into growth. In the second quarter of 2026, consolidated revenue rose 16.2% year-on-year to 3.3888 trillion won, while operating profit dipped 0.2% to 520.3 billion won. The starting point of this KBR corporate analysis is that while Naver's business foundation connecting advertising, commerce, and payments is growing, increasing costs are constraining profit expansion.
Breaking down the sources of revenue growth, C2C accounts for about 36% of the total increase, and advertising and services account for about 44%. Even excluding the integration effect of Wallapop, C2C revenue grew 52.1% based on the company's announcement, but the global business segment as a whole remains in the red. The report analyzes the monetization of existing platforms and the investment structure of the AI factory separately, and does not interpret external investment plans as Naver's confirmed revenue or sole investment amount.
The execution foundation of the strategy was also examined through organizational culture and ESG indicators. In Naver's 2025 internal organizational culture survey, the positive response rate for quality and customer focus was 79%, while work, structure, and processes lagged at 47%. In the same year, the parent company's market-based total greenhouse gas emissions increased by 24.6% from the previous year, and despite the increase in renewable energy use, its share of total energy use was 6.9%. The analysis addresses whether customer orientation translates into organizational execution efficiency and whether infrastructure expansion is in harmony with energy management.
In the profitability and cash analysis, attention was drawn to the fact that 73.5% of the cost increase occurred in partner and marketing items. The change in the depreciation period for computing assets is a measure that delays cost allocation and differs from cash inflow, and the company-defined second-quarter free cash flow decreased year-on-year to 46.3 billion won. The report presents the connection between revenue, costs, and cash in charts and calculates the impact of margin changes through scenario analyses separated from actual performance.
KBR's conclusion is that while signals of AI-driven growth are confirmed, investment recovery has not yet reached a proven stage. The 36-page report dated September 17, 2026, covers vision and strategy, organizational culture and talent, ESG, growth by business segment, profitability, cash and capital allocation, and a comprehensive evaluation, featuring 31 charts, comparison tables, and analytical diagrams.
